You don’t have to defeat power to outlast it. You just have to make sure what happened can still be seen later. Power usually wins in the present. It controls attention, institutions, and enforcement. But when records persist and memory survives, the future is no longer owned by whoever shouted the loudest or ruled the longest. The hope is not that power becomes good. The hope is that it cannot erase what it did. – Rico Roho
