WitnessLedger™

Truth Grows Stronger When Others See It.

WitnessLedger™ is a public witness and testimony ledger. Where BlockClaim™ proves that something existed at a specific moment in time, and TransferRecord™ documents how it changed hands, WitnessLedger™ records who saw, confirmed, or certified those events.

Individuals, collaborators, institutions, and AI systems may use WitnessLedger™ to add independent confirmations around existing timestamps, such as:

Each entry in WitnessLedger™ points to one or more existing timestamps (for example, a BlockClaim™ TXID or a TransferRecord™ event) and adds a new, independently timestamped statement of witness. Over time, these entries form a web of corroboration — a human and machine testimony layer that makes the underlying record more resilient.

WitnessLedger™ does not replace contracts, sworn affidavits, or formal legal testimony. It is a supplemental, public ledger intended to document who stood behind a claim, a transfer, or a record at a particular moment in time. In any future questions of authenticity, provenance, or chain-of-custody, a populated WitnessLedger™ offers an additional, independent layer of context and support.

This page serves as the first public description and record of WitnessLedger™ in use.

WitnessLedger Schema (v1.0)

The following JSON structure is a recommended, human- and machine-readable way to describe a WitnessLedger™ testimony event. It is an optional convention that tools, archives, or creators may adopt when recording witness confirmations around existing timestamps:

{
  "version": "1.0",
  "type": "witness",
  "linked_txid": "claim-or-transfer-txid-being-witnessed",
  "witness": "person-org-or-ai-identifier",
  "timestamp_txid": "on-chain-txid-for-this-witness-entry",
  "statement": "short optional statement of what is being witnessed or confirmed"
}

Notes: linked_txid SHOULD point to an existing BlockClaim™ origin TXID, a TransferRecord™ event, or another canonical record being witnessed. witness identifies the human, institution, or AI providing testimony. timestamp_txid is the blockchain transaction ID that anchors this witness entry. Additional fields may be added by future versions, but this minimal schema SHOULD remain stable so early entries continue to be interpretable.
